If your wedding is today or tomorrow, put the date in the subject line and we will jump the queue. To help us answer in one reply rather than three, tell us:
- The email address on your account
- The couple’s names or the wedding date
- What you were doing when it went wrong, and what you saw
- Your iPad model and iPadOS version, if it’s a crash
Common questions
How do I get to the setup screen?
The setup screen is hidden so guests cannot wander into it. Tap the book cover on the welcome screen five times in a row, then enter your admin PIN. The PIN is 1234 until you change it — please change it in setup before the reception starts.
Do I need wifi at the venue?
No. The app is built offline-first: photos, notes, and voice messages are saved on the iPad itself and nothing depends on a connection. Barns, basements, and airplane-mode iPads are all fine. When the iPad next sees wifi, everything uploads on its own if cloud backup is switched on.
Nothing has synced — did I lose it?
Almost certainly not. Entries live on the iPad until they upload successfully, and the app keeps retrying. Open setup and check the sync panel: it shows how many entries are on the device and how many have reached the cloud. If the pending number is not falling on a good connection, email us with those two numbers.
Do not delete the app while entries are pending — that is the one thing that genuinely destroys them.
I paid, but the wedding is still locked
Open setup, sign in to your account, select the wedding, and tap Restore Purchase. Make sure the iPad is signed into the same Apple Account you bought with. Each unlock applies to one wedding, so if you have run a previous wedding, that unlock is already spent and the new wedding needs its own. Still stuck? Email us with the Apple receipt and we will sort it out.
Where is my PDF keepsake?
The PDF is part of the wedding unlock. After the event, open setup and use the export option — the book is built from entries that have reached the cloud, so run Sync Now first and let the pending count reach zero, or the missing ones will not be in it. The finished PDF opens in the iPad share sheet, so you can save it to Files, email it, or AirDrop it. Print it anywhere you like — most couples order a hardcover from Mixbook or Shutterfly.
Can I run more than one wedding?
Yes. Planners and venues regularly do. Each wedding keeps its own book, its own look, and its own guests, and each is unlocked separately. Sign in on the iPad and pick which wedding the device is collecting for.
Can I remove an entry?
Yes — open the gallery, select the entry, and delete it. If it had already synced, it is removed from the cloud copy too. If a guest asks you to take theirs out later, that is all it takes.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open setup, sign in, and choose Delete account. You will be asked for your password to confirm. This permanently deletes your account; see the Privacy Policy for exactly what is removed and when.
Does the app work on iPhone?
It is designed for iPad — a guestbook wants a big screen on a table. It will run on iPhone, but the layout is built for the iPad.
Still stuck?
Email support@weddingsguestbook.com. A person reads every message. If something in the app cost you a memory, say so plainly — we would rather hear it than not.
