Terms of Use

Last updated August 3, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and KeyesCode (“we”, “us”) covering the Wedding Guestbook iPad app, the planner portal at weddingsguestbook.com, and anything you buy inside them. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.

1. Who may use it

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account. If you are setting up a wedding on behalf of a couple or a venue, you confirm you are allowed to do so and that you accept these terms for them as well.

2. Your licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, sell, rent, sub-license, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where the law says you may.

3. What is free and what is paid

The app is free to install and free for guests to use. Guests can take photos, write notes, and record voice messages on an unlocked wedding without paying anything — that is the trial, and it is deliberately a real one.

Unlocking a wedding is a one-time in-app purchase of $49.99 (or the equivalent in your local currency, as listed on the App Store). Unlocking adds custom themes and colors, a personalised welcome screen, cloud backup, and the print-ready PDF keepsake.

Each wedding is unlocked separately. An unlock applies to one wedding and is not a subscription, an account-wide upgrade, or transferable to another wedding once it has been applied. If you run two weddings, you buy two unlocks. Planners who need many unlocks are welcome to get in touch.

4. Payment and refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account. We never receive or store your payment details. Prices may change; a change never affects a wedding you have already unlocked.

Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something in the app went wrong, please email us first — we would rather fix it.

If you buy an unlock and it is not applied to your wedding, use Restore Purchase on the setup screen. If that does not sort it out, email us and we will.

5. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password and your wedding’s admin PIN to yourself, and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. You can delete your account at any time from the app’s setup screen; see our Privacy Policy for what that removes and when.

6. Your content stays yours

The photos, notes, drawings, and voice messages created in your guestbook belong to you and your guests. We claim no ownership of them.

To run the service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, transmit, and process that content solely in order to provide the app to you — syncing it, backing it up, rendering your PDF, and restoring it when you ask. That licence exists for no other purpose, ends when the content is deleted, and does not let us publish, sell, or use your content to promote anything.

7. Your responsibilities at the event

You control the iPad at your wedding, so a few things are on you:

  • Let guests know they are being photographed and recorded, and obtain any consent your local law requires. Some places require everyone in a voice recording to agree to it.
  • Do not use the app to collect or store anything unlawful, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights.
  • Do not attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to our servers, or to use the app to reach weddings that are not yours.

You can delete any individual entry from your book at any time. If content that violates these terms is reported to us and you have not removed it, we may remove it or suspend the account. We do not routinely review the contents of anyone’s guestbook.

8. Availability, and keeping your own copy

The app is built to work with no internet connection at all, and your wedding does not depend on our servers being up. Cloud backup, the portal, and PDF generation do depend on them, and we cannot promise they will be available without interruption. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service; if we ever shut down cloud backup, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export everything.

Because a wedding cannot be re-run, please export or download your book once the day is over rather than relying on any single copy — ours or the iPad’s.

9. Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular photo, note, or recording will be captured or preserved. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they do not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or lost memories, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the wedding in question in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time and delete your account from inside it. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms or that is being used to harm others or our service. Sections 6 (your content), 9, 10, and 12 survive termination.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not deprive you of protections that the mandatory law of your home country gives you.

13. Terms required by Apple

Because the app is distributed through the App Store, the following apply:

  • This agreement is between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its contents.
  • Your licence to use the app is limited to Apple-branded products you own or control, and is subject to the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service.
  • We — not Apple — are solely responsible for support and maintenance. Apple has no obligation to provide either.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app.
  • We — not Apple — are responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or privacy law.
  • We — not Apple — are responsible for investigating and resolving any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights.
  • You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change and, for anything significant, we will tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept it.
